Designed by William Hobé's sons, this Post-war set features layered amethyst and aquamarine rhinestones in a gold-plated setting. The contrasting colors and shapes make this brooch and clip-back earrings the right pieces for all seasons.
A bouquet of emerald-cut pale amethyst rhinestone flowers with gold-plated stems and pavé accents is tied with a bow. Even the stem ends are finished with clear rhinestones. These details and the two-piece construction illustrate the high quality Mazer is known for. This brooch has a roll-over safety clasp.
Amethyst, ruby and peridot rhinestone calla lilies are tied in a bow accented with fuchsia, clear and blue rhinestones. They look as though they're reaching for the sky! The setting has a rose gold wash over sterling silver, with a roll-over safety catch. Another gorgeous Adolf Katz design from Corocraft, Coro's high-end line.
The pavé center is surrounded by aquamarine rhinestones on this brooch that Adolph Katz designed and Coro named Diadem. It has a gold-plated woven border with a roll-over safety-clasp and a loop that allows the piece to be worn as a necklace. An advertisement for a demi-parure in the same design but with all clear rhinestones, reproduced in Marcia Brown's book on Coro, reads: "Diadem Jewels by Coro ... To cast a lovely light about you, an aura of excitement, a glow of elegance ... first magnitude jewels at their starriest heights". Included with the brooch is the gold-plated double snake chain with a diamanté-adorned push-in clasp that is the same design as the brooch center. The snake chain was made for a very slender neck, so please note the chain length (14 1/4") and check your neck size before ordering this piece.
A single aquamarine rhinestone-centered flower is surrounded by flowers and leaves applied to the ribbons of the bow that forms this sterling silver Retro brooch by Hobé. An aquamarine rhinestone is at the center of each bow-shaped earring. The detail on these pieces is a superb example of the maker's craftsmanship. The brooch has a roll-over safety clasp, and the earrings are clip-backs. The same floral motif is used in Hobé's Aquamarine & Sterling Flower Bracelet.
This large, layered sterling silver fan-shaped brooch is ornately detailed with leaves and bezel-set aquamarine glass stones. An aqua-centered tied ribbon suspends an aqua stone pendant. For some reason, the stone at the top is clear, but it does appear to be original. This brooch, which closes with a roll-over safety clasp, is a great example of the genius of this maker. Take a look at my Aquamarine & Sterling Flower Retro Bracelet by Hobé.
This aquamarine rhinestone and vermeil sterling silver bow brooch is a larger and more elaborate variation of a Hobé theme. Flowing buds are graceful embellishments to the aqua rhinestones. The gold-plated sterling flower in the center is my favorite Hobé form. This piece has a roll-over safety clasp.
Aquamarine baguette and pink round rhinestones adorn this gold-plated mesh disc with elaborate bow that can be worn as a brooch or pendant. This Retro piece by Lampl has a roll-over safety clasp.
This stunning three-dimensional brooch features clusters of black crystal beads atop clear aurora borealis (AB) and black rhinestones. The AB navettes reflect spectacular colors and give this piece so much life, which is hard to capture in photos. The setting is silver-tone metal with a roll-over safety clasp. If red is your color, see the same brooch in fiery red here.
This large black bakelite brooch with ornate carving is adorned with newly-replaced square-cut and round rhinestones. It has a roll-over safety clasp. Not for the faint-hearted, this brooch is a real statement piece.
