Spring is here, so why not add some long-awaited sunshine to your spring/summer wardrobe? A tone of yellow called Custard, one of the top 10 colors for women’s clothing this season, has been described as “soft and mellow warmth and full of good feelings”. Because yellow is one of those hues that doesn’t flatter every complexion, it’s a great color for accessorizing with vintage costume jewelry. Shades of yellow complement the latest fashion trends, including many of this season’s top colors, as well as your perennial favorites.
To inspire you to accessorize with vintage costume jewelry, I have created a collection of outfits featuring TruFaux Jewels with a selection of clothing and accessories available online through Polyvore (which is described below). Below you will see a variety of ensembles for casual, office and evening wear. These outfits suggest ways in which pieces from my website can be worn as well as color combinations you may not have considered before. In some cases, the same piece of jewelry is presented in multiple outfits, to show how versatile it is. In other cases, the same clothing and accessories are shown with different TruFaux Jewels. Many examples of what I call everyday basics (e.g., blue or black jeans, a white blouse or tee shirt, and a blazer; a dark skirt and a white top) are included to inspire you to accessorize with vintage costume jewelry to refresh your existing wardrobe. My goal is to help you look extraordinary and unique.
The outfits presented below are in slide-show format, with the caption (my comments) at the bottom of each slide. If you like a particular outfit and want to see the detailed descriptions of the items shown, just click on the image to be transferred to the Polyvore site.
