Marcasite & Sterling German Art Deco Earrings

These delicate sterling and marcasite German Art Deco earrings were one of the first pieces I collected when I was fell in love with Art Deco jewelry from Germany. The detail on these earrings shows you why I felt that way. The original screw-backs were replaced with sterling silver posts for pierced ears a long time ago by my expert jeweler. Notice that these earrings are marked 935, which is a slightly higher silver content than sterling (925). You could wear these earrings with any of my Art Deco sterling silver and marcasite pieces, with or without colored stones. Milk Glass & Mother-of-Pearl 1950s Wrap Bracelet

This 1950s milk-glass-beaded triple-row wrap bracelet has round faux-mother-of-pearl plagues on each end decorated with brass filigree and flowers of tiny milk glass beads and diamanté. This lovely wire bracelet is probably from Japan, which produced a lot of very nice costume jewelry for export to the U.S. in the 1950s. This bracelet coordinates well with other milk-glass pieces from the same decade — scroll down to see them.

Milk Glass Bead French 1950s Torsade by Louis Rousselet

Five strands of milk-glass beads in varying sizes are twisted into a torsade, with a sixth strand in the center. The tongue-in-groove clasp is topped with a white glass button. This lovely necklace by the incomparable Louis Rousselet is actually signed on the back of the clasp – a true rarity. (Most of this maker's pieces had only a hang tag rather than the maker's mark on the piece itself.) I have other lovely French pieces by or in the style of this maker -- scroll down to see them.

    USD$245.00

Milk Glass Earrings with Gold Wire & Diamanté by Hattie Carnegie

These milk glass earrings by Hattie Carnegie are substantial and incredibly well-made. They feature prong-set, opaque-white-glass stones wrapped in gold wire and accented with diamanté. From the 1950s, these ear clips feature the same gorgeous gold-wire construction this designer used with a variety of stones to create earrings, necklaces, brooches, and bracelets. I was proud to see this pair worn on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Vintage crystal necklace with onyx & 3 drops
Art Deco black & white crystal necklace
    USD$395.00

Onyx & Crystal Art Deco Necklace with 3 Drops

This necklace features at its center a trio of faceted, square-cut clear stones from which dangle faceted round crystals that alternate with faceted-oblong-onyx-glass stones. The same pattern is repeated up the necklace to the delicate paper-clip chain that finishes the piece. Although the spring-ring clasp and jump ring are marked "sterling", I don't know the content of the rest of the silver-tone metal. This necklace was shortened for me, but you could easily add an extender. This European masterpiece from my personal collection is stunning and perfect for a v-neckline! Onyx & Crystal Bead Art Deco Necklace & Earrings Set

This Art Deco necklace with onyx glass and crystal beads is incredibly versatile. It can be worn long or short, because the necklace separates into two. You can wear just the largest beads in a 19" length or the small and narrow beads in a 15 1/4" length. It's like having three necklaces in one! Believe it or not, I found the necklace and the earrings separately. The original screw-backs on the earrings were converted to sterling silver lever-backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. This set, which was in my personal collection, is incredibly versatile and of the moment. Onyx & Crystal German Chicklet Necklace

This chicklet necklace with faceted, black onyx (glass?) and crystal rectangles set in decorative frames is an exceptional find. Though unmarked, I believe this piece was made in Germany. Opal Art Deco Necklace, Bracelet & Earrings Set

This necklace, bracelet and earrings set features faceted blue-glass stones that resemble opals or moonstones (I can't decide which) in fluted silver settings. The lively stones have pointed backs. The mountings and chains may be sterling, but the necklace fish-hook clasp and bracelet tongue-in-groove clasp are both marked "silver". The unmarked earrings are screw-backs. The bracelet clasp makes me think this set was made in the 1950s Art Deco Revival period.
