Emerald & Diamanté 1930s Flexible Bracelet by Schreiber & Hiller

This Art Deco emerald bracelet is a fine example of this maker's art. The design is a pattern of three "roof-shaped" vertical links of channel-set diamanté followed by one with emerald glass stones. The stones are relatively large, and this bracelet is the widest I've seen from this company. The rhodium-plated links in this substantial piece are joined by a concealed mesh band that was patented by another German maker. This bracelet closes with a concealed clasp. Scroll down to see a necklace, also by Schreiber & Hiller, in the same colors. Although both of these jewels are no longer available, you can shop more from this maker here.

Emerald, Diamanté & Silver Art Deco Dangle Earrings

These emerald, diamanté and silver Art Deco earrings are as stunning and glamorous as they come! These all-original earrings have lever-backs for pierced ears. The metal may be sterling, but it is unmarked. These gorgeous earrings are probably European in origin and are from my personal collection. Art Deco pin with emerald & diamante by Otis

Emerald, Diamanté & Sterling 1930s Brooch by Otis

This mid-1930s Art Deco pin is a variation on the era’s bar brooch. It features two faceted, square-cut emerald-glass stones at each end. The centerpiece is a diamanté-encrusted circle in a starburst pattern with emerald stones emanating from the pavé center. On each side is a smaller diamanté-encrusted cut-out circle. Vintage line bracelet in emerald & diamanté, set in sterling silver
Emerald, diamanté & sterling bracelet by Otis
    USD$275.00

Emerald, Diamanté & Sterling Line Bracelet by Otis

This vintage line bracelet by Otis features faceted, square-cut emerald-glass stones channel-set in rhodium-plated sterling silver. The piece is finished with engraved edges and a diamanté-encrusted fold-over clasp. The color of the emeralds is rich and lush. The superb articulation speaks to the high-quality construction of the piece, which was the same as that of Wachenheimer Brothers. (Read about their connection with Otis.) Line bracelets were all the rage in the 1920s-1930s and were typically worn in multiples. You could wear this one with another line bracelet by the same maker or with a filigree bracelet with emeralds, as shown in the last images. I was delighted to see this jewel worn by a model on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019! She was also adorned with a necklace and earrings, which are among the coordinating pieces shown below. Can you pick out the other runway jewels?

1950s pin with grey pearls, emeralds & sapphires
Close-up view of emerald bead, peal, and sapphire stone accents
    USD$345.00

Emerald, Pearl & Sapphire 1950s Brooch by Miriam Haskell

This Miriam Haskell pin is a real knockout! It features a large, pale-grey faux pearl in the center, surrounded by a ring of faceted, round sapphire-glass stones set in silver-tone metal. Ten rays emanate from there, each with a sapphire-glass bead; a ribbed, egg-shaped emerald-glass stone; and tiny faux pearl accents. The construction is superb: a scallop-edged, round filigree plaque supports the center and holds the pin with a roll-over safety clasp. Each ray is supported by its own round filigree plaque topped with a triangular frame. Because of the complexity of the brooch’s design, I suggest wearing simple pearl earrings and/or a pearl bracelet. After all, the brooch should be the star of the show!
