1950s Jewelry, Christian Dior Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Christian Dior earrings feature textured, gold-tone ropes intertwined with faceted golden-topaz and green-tourmaline glass stones and aurora borealis diamantés. (Swarovski invented aurora borealis – a coating that adds iridescence to faceted stones and beads. Dior was one of the first designers to adopt it in his designs.) The color combination and elaborate hook-and-eye construction of these 1950s ear clips are worthy of the maker’s name. Elegant, classic, and perfect for a woman who likes to wear warm colors. These earrings looked amazing when they walked the runway at a recent fashion show.USD$345.00USD$345.00Green Bead 2-Strand French Necklace
1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage NecklacesThis green glass bead necklace is just gorgeous! Two strands of graduated beads in a soft-green with swirls of color form this French 1950s jewel. I think it was made by Louis Rousselet. (As you may know, few of his pieces were signed directly on the jewelry – instead, a paper hang tag was used.) The box clasp topped with a button-shaped bead is one type of closure he often used. It can be seen in books with photos of Rousselet jewels. This necklace from my personal collection was recently professionally restrung. 1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese jade bead earrings feature clusters of vibrant dark-apple-green-glass barrels cascading from a white-metal back. Some of the beads have striations. Though unsigned, these delightful 1950s creations feature the same horseshoe-shaped ear clip typically used by Louis Rousselet. What’s more significant is the way the earrings are constructed. The backs have a "metallic support in the shape of a rosette" to which the beads are wired. Florence Müller (in Costume Jewelry for Haute Couture) cites this "rosette" as a "signature" of this maker’s work, which was rarely signed on the jewelry. These colorful, playful and unusual earrings are perfect for any occasion. You can see them on my favorite model in this blog post.USD$395.00USD$395.00Jade Bead, Pearl & Diamanté Dangle Brooch

The setting is rhodium-plated metal with a roll-over safety clasp. Wear this substantial jewel on a lapel, sash, or purse, or as a pendant. The last photo shows it as the centerpiece on a white-gold-and-diamond chain. (This necklace is not included.) 1940s Jewelry, 1950s Jewelry, Vintage Earrings, Vintage Miriam Haskell JewelryThese milk glass earrings with beads and disks, rondelles, and gold-tone findings have a real Machine Age-look and associated movement. However, the use of French ear clips dates them to the late-1940s, and the white beads may take them into the 1950s, when white jewelry was extremely popular. I still consider this pair to be Art Deco in style, and I’ve seen the same motif used by this designer (Frank Hess) on earlier Miriam Haskell pieces. Whenever they were made, these ear clips are lots of fun! I saw them in an entirely new, bright, and glamorous light when they were chosen to walk the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. See them on the model who looked stunning in a bridal jumpsuit with skirt. You don't have to be a bride to add glamour to an ensemble with these fabulous earrings!USD$345.00USD$345.00Onyx & Aurora Borealis Brooch by Elsa Schiaparelli
1950s Jewelry, Elsa Schiaparelli Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis vintage rhinestone brooch is a stunning, three-dimensional 1950s jewel by Elsa Schiaparelli. It is formed by three layered flowers. The centers are clusters of onyx-glass beads that sit atop petals of onyx glass and Aurora Borealis diamantés. This iridescent coating on the navettes reflects spectacular colors, creates a sense of movement, and gives this piece so much life. These effects are hard to capture in photos. The brooch setting is silver-tone metal with a roll-over safety clasp. If red is your color, scroll down to see the same design in that fiery hue. 1950s Jewelry, Alice Caviness Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Alice Caviness earrings have clusters of black- and clear-glass bi-colored beads. Some have caps of silver-tone filigree, while other caps are solid metal. These ear clips were designed in the starburst or atomic motif that was popular in the 1950s, yet they are so versatile and wearable now! In fact, these earrings walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. The designer paired them – unexpectedly, yet perfectly – with an Art Deco onyx link bracelet. 1950s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese diamanté dangle earrings are inset with emerald enamel accents and have additional sparkling stones at the earlobes. Onyx-glass hoops form the bottom of these lovely and versatile pendants. The ear wires for pierced ears are original, but the lever backs are unmarked. These earrings are probably European in origin. Though Art Deco in style, something about this pair makes me think they may be from a later Revival era. Nevertheless, they are beautiful! 1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese art glass earrings feature pale pink, green and blue beads that dangle on chains suspended from a pink glass button. The pastel-colored beads in different shapes and sizes have white striations. These 1950s ear clips are lovely and versatile, and have lots of movement. Though unsigned, they resemble pieces made by Louis Rousselet. The clues are the glass button at the earlobe and the beauty and uniqueness of the beads. (He often topped necklace box clasps with a button-shaped glass bead.) I am not certain about the maker, however, because of the style of the ear clip. Nonetheless, these jewels are fun!USD$375.00USD$375.00
