1950s Jewelry, Christian Dior Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Christian Dior earrings feature textured, gold-plated ropes intertwined with faceted golden-topaz and green- tourmaline glass stones and AB diamanté. (Swarovski, in collaboration with Dior, invented aurora borealis – a coating that adds iridescence to stones.) The color combination and elaborate hook-and-eye construction of these 1950s ear clips are worthy of the maker’s name. Elegant, classic, and perfect for a woman who looks best in warm colors. These earrings looked amazing when they walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019.$ 245 -
Green Bead 2-Strand French Necklace
1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage NecklacesThis green glass bead necklace is just gorgeous! Two strands of graduated beads in a soft-green with swirls of color form this French 1950s jewel. I think it was made by Louis Rousselet. (As you may know, few of his pieces were signed directly on the jewelry – instead, a paper hang tag was used.) The clasp, which is the type he typically used, is topped with his well-known button-shaped bead. This necklace from my personal collection was recently professionally restrung. A timeless addition to your jewelry wardrobe.$ 495 -

Jade Art Glass, Gemstone & Pearl Brooch & Earrings Set by Hobé
1950s Jewelry, Costume Jewelry Sets / Parures, Hobé Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis gemstone brooch and earrings set has large jade-art-glass nuggets set in gold-tone metal as its focal point. The oval-shaped brooch has two nuggets surrounded by faux pearls and glass stones in amethyst, sapphire, and citrine. These embellishments are in various shapes and sizes. An overlay of gold-plated filigree flowers with tiny sapphire centers complete the brooch. It closes with a roll-over safety clap. The ear clips each have one jade nugget with a semi-circle of the same colorful stones. The earrings face each other, so they will frame your face to perfection. The combination of elements and the complexity of design make this set very special. It’s a great example of Hobé’s ’50s Glam style and suits today’s preference for statement jewelry. Jade Bead Dangling Earrings by Louis Rousselet
1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese jade bead earrings feature clusters of vibrant dark-apple-green-glass barrels cascading from French ear clips. Some of the beads have striations. Though unsigned, these delightful 1950s creations feature the same style of ear clip typically used by Louis Rousselet. What’s more significant is the way the earrings are constructed: on the backs we see the flower-shaped links to which the beads are wired, a unique trait of this maker’s work. (Note that he typically signed his pieces with only a paper hang tag.) These playful and unusual earrings are perfect for any occasion.$ 250 -

1950s Jewelry, Alice Caviness Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Alice Caviness earrings have clusters of black- and clear-glass bi-colored beads. These ear clips were designed in the starburst or atomic motif that was popular in the 1950s, yet they are so versatile and wearable now! In fact, these earrings walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. The designer paired them – unexpectedly, yet perfectly – with a 1930s German Art Deco bracelet. Onyx, Emerald & Diamanté Dangling Earrings
1950s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsOnyx-glass hoops attached to emerald-green-enamel and diamanté-embellished panels of silver-tone metal form these lovely and versatile earrings. Additional diamanté adorn the earlobe. The ear wires for pierced ears are original, but the lever backs are unmarked. These earrings are probably European in origin. Though Art Deco in style, something about this pair makes me think they may be from a later Revival era. Nevertheless, they are beautiful! Opal & Diamanté Leaf 1950s Brooch by Marcel Boucher
1950s Jewelry, Marcel Boucher Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis Boucher brooch from 1950 looks like fine jewelry, with its fiery-opal art-glass center surrounded by sparkling diamanté. Pastel Art Glass French 1950s Dangling Earrings
1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese dangling art glass earrings feature pale pink, green and blue beads that dangle on chains suspended from a pink glass button. The pastel-colored beads in different shapes and sizes have white striations. These 1950s ear clips are lovely and versatile, and have lots of movement. Though unsigned, this pair resembles pieces made by Louis Rousselet, especially with the glass button at the earlobe and the high-quality of the beads. I am not certain, however, because of the style of the ear clip.$ 185 -
Pearl & Blown Glass Bead 1950s Pendant Earrings by Louis Rousselet
1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese blown glass ear clips have clusters of beads in greens, purples, and reds, along with pearls. This pair was made by Louis Rousselet, according to Ginger Moro (the author of European Designer Jewelry and a Rousselet expert). Though marked "Charlin" on the ear clips, these pendants are "a re-issue of an earlier design from the '50s using vintage glass beads and pearls", stated Moro in correspondence, when I bought these earrings from her. The colors and design make this pair very versatile and easy to wear for day or evening.$ 295 -
Pearl & Blown Glass Flower French 1950s Earrings
1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsClusters of tiny faux pearls with blown-glass flowers and leaves form these 1950s ear clips. The design and style of the beads remind me of the work of the French maker Louis Rousselet, although the earring backs are not the same as those he typically used. However, the findings I'm familiar with would have been too small for this creation. Please note that although these earrings are not mirror images, the lack of symmetry – which is not unusual in hand-strung pieces – does not detract from their lovely appearance. What a great choice for a bride!$ 295 -
