The elongated hexagon-shaped stones may look more like sodalite than lapis lazuli, because they don’t have the brassy specks usually found in the latter. Whatever the case, the color is fabulous, and the workmanship is typical of the high-quality and unusual jewelry produced in Germany before World War II. The stones are 1/4″ high and have points in the center. The setting is sterling silver with a spring-ring clasp. This well-made Art Deco piece, which is longer than most of its era, is signed. The bejeweled fold-over clasp, which joins the harp-shaped link at each end, was used by this maker in the early 1930s, when they were no longer using their Diamonbar trademark. 1930s Jewelry, Vintage Bracelets, Wachenheimer Bros. JewelryThis quintessential Art Deco line bracelet was made by the renowned Wachenheimer Brothers (best known for their Diamonbar pieces). It has faceted, square-cut onyx-glass stones channel-set in sterling silver, with engraved edges and diamanté-studded clasps. This bracelet was made in two sections, with identical fold-over clasps in both places. The type of clasp dates this piece to the early 1930s, after the company stopped using their Diamonbar trademark and near the end of their production. This bracelet was made for a slim wrist, so please note the bracelet length (6 7/8") and check your wrist size before purchasing this piece. I have always found many German Art Deco pieces especially appealing because of their high-quality design and construction. Bracelets like this one are extremely versatile for both day and evening wear. This piece was one of the first German Art Deco jewels that joined my personal collection decades ago. I was thrilled when it was chosen to walk the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Simple flat gold links hold the elements together and end with a fold-over clasp. The red stones really complement the gold-washed setting. With its sapphire-glass baguettes and diamanté accents, this piece has the same construction and appearance as its fine jewelry counterpart. The excellent articulation and clasp with safety catch are the hallmarks of high-quality. Although one of the baguettes has a small surface chip, my expert jeweler has confirmed that the stone is firmly set. The bracelet looks perfect when worn. Granbery advertised their flexible bracelets in the June 1925 issue of The Keystone, a jewelry trade publication. This German company is best known for its Art Nouveau and Art Deco silver-plated tableware. This silver-plated link bracelet from the Ikora line closes with a concealed clasp. The warm patina is the result of the oxidation process the jewelry department used in its manufacturing. This wonderful bracelet is attractive, yet neutral enough to be worn with a variety of attire for a range of day and evening activities.
