Amethyst, Diamanté & Rose-Gold Brooch by Pennino Bros.

1940s Jewelry, Coro Jewelry, Costume Jewelry Sets / Parures, Double Clip Brooches, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis 'Merry Whirl' Duette was sold to me as a set with these earrings. Although all pieces are gold-tone with diamanté and made by the same company, my research uncovered a different story. The screw-back earrings are, in fact, from their 'Gay Swirl' design. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t hesitate to wear these pieces together. The Duette, Coro’s double clip brooch, can be worn as a brooch (in the positions shown) or as separate dress clips. These jewels were advertised in the April 1948 issue of Life magazine, which is how I found out the design names. The brooch has richly-detailed, textured layers of buds and leaves that emanate from the multi-layered center flower. The earrings replicate the brooch center. The pin closes with a roll-over safety clasp; the earrings have screw-backs. This set is one of this maker's more complex and unusual designs from the 1940s and doesn’t need any colored stones to make it sparkle.USD$295.00USD$295.00Sterling Flower & Leaf Brooch by Hobé
1940s Jewelry, Hobé Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis Hobé sterling silver brooch is petite (by Hobé standards), but it has the same level of detail and quality workmanship as its larger sisters. The intricate buds on either side of the central flower are particularly lovely. From the 1940s, this three-dimensional piece has a roll-over safety clasp.USD$175.00USD$175.00Sterling Flower Bouquet Brooch
1940s Jewelry, Unknown (Maker's Mark is Unknown), Vintage Brooches & PinsThis vintage flower pin in sterling silver has wonderful detail and an unusual design. A cluster of petals defines the flower, which sits atop a pair of veined leaves. The fourth stem ends in a spiral. This lovely piece is very three-dimensional, well-made and somewhat whimsical. Because of its size and motif, I’m guessing it dates to the 1940s. The pin closes with a roll-over safety clasp. I only wish I could find information about the maker (which is definitely not Rafael Canada)!USD$195.00USD$195.00Sterling Silver Rose Brooch by Hobé
1940s Jewelry, Hobé Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis sterling silver rose brooch is just one of numerous floral pieces designed by this extraordinary maker. In my opinion, Hobé made the best sterling flowers in the 1940s. On this pin, the large blossom at the center with surrounding buds illustrate his exceptional design talent and the company’s high-level of craftsmanship. Their pieces were all hand-made at this time. The unusual design of this brooch is similar to one that was patented in 1940. The pin closes with a roll-over safety clasp.USD$225.00USD$225.00Turquoise Brooch with Pate de Verre Flowers
