Amethyst & Diamanté Earrings from Austria
1930s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese vintage amethyst earrings feature three rows of vertically-set stones. In the middle are two deep-purple baguettes with a round diamanté on top and a faceted, teardrop-shaped diamanté at the bottom. On either side of the middle, the pattern is repeated but with a single baguette. The setting is rhodium-plated metal shaped to hold the stones together, making each pendant one piece. A single, faceted, round diamanté sits at the earlobe. These 1930s Art Deco earrings from Austria are all-original screw-backs and can be modified for pierced ears. The color combination is rich, regal, and easy-to-wear.USD$295.00USD$295.00Amethyst Earrings by Elsa Schiaparelli
1940s Jewelry, Elsa Schiaparelli Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese amethyst costume earrings by Elsa Schiaparelli feature the single, large emerald-cut stones that were so popular in the 1940s. Although classic and classy, this pair of ear clips is really hard to photograph. The stones are open back (without any green, as the photos may suggest) in a silver-tone setting. The actual color is a deep, regal purple. Earrings like these never go out of style!USD$195.00USD$195.00Aquamarine Floral Earrings by Pennino Bros.
1940s Jewelry, Pennino Bros. Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese aquamarine earrings were made by Pennino Bros. in the 1940s. The curled, flirty flower petals in gold-washed metal are the same shape and finish this maker used in a series of 1947 brooches called Sunburst. The glass stone settings are the same as their Bulrush brooch and earrings set from the same year. Both were made in vermeil sterling. According to Brunialti, the patent pending mark on these earrings refers to the clip mechanism, as these designs were not patented. Because the sterling mark is on the ear clip only, I can't say for sure that this pair is sterling silver. These details are just for background – all Pennino jewels are divine! And by facing each other, these earrings frame your face to perfection. Please note that bright spots are merely lighting reflections.USD$245.00USD$245.00Baroque Pearl Earrings by Louis Rousselet
1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese baroque pearl earrings have a large, cream-colored glass pearl center encircled by a ring of small, matching round glass pearls. (Their pieces were usually only signed with paper hang tags.) This pair has been authenticated by the current company manager. Classic and classy, these earrings would make a lovely accessory for daytime, evening, or bridal/wedding/prom wear.USD$375.00USD$375.00Black Bakelite & Diamanté 1930s Earrings by Schreiber & Hiller

At the bottom is another diamanté-set link flanked by black Bakelite (or Galalith) on three sides. In the middle is a single stone. Each earring has a small chip of Bakelite at the bottom, but that minor flaw in no way detracts from their beauty. A sterling chain connects each drop to a diamanté-centered black bead designed to adorn the earlobe. These all-original screw-back earrings can be modified for pierced ears. Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese camphor glass earrings were made in the Art Deco style and were very difficult to photograph in the hanging position. The camphor glass is more opaque than the first picture suggests; the second is a more accurate depiction. The pendants are embellished with diamanté triangles and rectangular onyx-glass stones. The ear wires with lever-backs for pierced ears are original to the earrings and unmarked. Long and luxurious, these all-original Art Deco pendants have gold-colored ear wires with shepherd hooks for pierced ears. I am unaware of their metal content. I think these beautiful earrings are European in origin because of their exceptional quality, their fasteners, and the "SILVER" stamp on the back. The use of "800 silver" (which is less than the 925 standard for sterling) was common in Europe when these jewels were made.
