1940s Jewelry, Ralph De Rosa Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese crescent earrings with gemstone-colored glass stones were made by Ralph De Rosa. The gems are graduated in size and enhanced with an inner ring of diamantés. The variety of colors makes these ear clips very versatile. Moreover, the faux diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire and topaz form the word dearest, making these earrings acrostic (i.e., the initials of the stones form a word or name). This type of sentimental jewelry was very popular in the 19th century Victorian era, a style that inspired some 1940s jewelry designers. De Rosa created a Dearest series, which included brooches, in 1949. This maker's pieces are always exceptionally well-made and hard-to-find. A pair of clip cushions is included with this purchase.USD$295.00USD$295.00Glass Teardrop Earrings with Diamantés in Sterling

1950s Jewelry, Costume Jewelry Sets / Parures, Pennino Bros. Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & Pins, Vintage EarringsThese gold disk earrings and brooch were made by Pennino Bros. in the 1950s. Pavé disks intersect and overlay the scored disks of gold-tone metal, which remind me of open fans. The layered design and construction of this set are characteristic of exceptional makers like this one. The brooch closes with a roll-over safety clasp. Note that about 1/4″ of the pavé disk on each ear clip will sit below your earlobe. Wear these lovely earrings and brooch together or separately, to create different looks. Your own real or faux diamond studs or hoop earrings would work well with this brooch. Wear the ear clips as shoe embellishments.USD$275.00USD$275.00Gold Swirl Earrings with Pavé by Marcel Boucher

The exotic three-sided shape of the large stones enhances the three-leaf clover design in gold-tone metal. These details and the elaborate construction of the earring backs exemplify the ingenuity and quality of this fashion house. This color combination – which is perfect for those who like to wear warm colors – can be found in other Schiaparelli jewels. The metal has a hint of a warm gold plating, which was popular in the 1940s. These graceful Retro Modern jewels are so beautiful and well-made that I’m surprised they are unsigned. 1920s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese 1920s drop earrings are fun and unusual but hard to describe. The pendant is a ball composed of a faceted, golden-topaz-glass disk sandwiched between two shiny, silver-tone domes. A golden-topaz glass stone sits at the ear lobe, and a small bead is at the center of the paper-clip chain. These all-original, long earrings have screw-backs, which can be modified for pierced ears. 1950s Jewelry, Christian Dior Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Christian Dior earrings feature textured, gold-tone ropes intertwined with faceted golden-topaz and green-tourmaline glass stones and aurora borealis diamantés. (Swarovski invented aurora borealis – a coating that adds iridescence to faceted stones and beads. Dior was one of the first designers to adopt it in his designs.) The color combination and elaborate hook-and-eye construction of these 1950s ear clips are worthy of the maker’s name. Elegant, classic, and perfect for a woman who likes to wear warm colors. These earrings looked amazing when they walked the runway at a recent fashion show.USD$345.00USD$345.00Jade Bead Art Deco Chandelier Earrings
1920s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Art Deco chandelier earrings feature a circle of mottled, pale jade-glass beads suspended from a triangle of silver-tone chain dotted with additional beads. A single bead pendant hangs within each circle, and a matching larger disk is set where it will adorn the earlobe. Lavishly-long (3-inch), this pair is possibly Czech in origin. These all-original screw-back earrings can be modified for pierced ears. Lots of movement; fun to wear!USD$395.00USD$395.00Jade Bead Dangling Earrings
1920s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese vintage jade earrings from the 1920s are fashioned from small jade-glass beads that hang from five brass chains. 1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese jade bead earrings feature clusters of vibrant dark-apple-green-glass barrels cascading from a white-metal back. Some of the beads have striations. Though unsigned, these delightful 1950s creations feature the same horseshoe-shaped ear clip typically used by Louis Rousselet. What’s more significant is the way the earrings are constructed. The backs have a "metallic support in the shape of a rosette" to which the beads are wired. Florence Müller (in Costume Jewelry for Haute Couture) cites this "rosette" as a "signature" of this maker’s work, which was rarely signed on the jewelry. These colorful, playful and unusual earrings are perfect for any occasion. You can see them on my favorite model in this blog post.USD$395.00USD$395.00Jade Drop Earrings
1930s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese jade drop earrings are made from molded glass that simulates carved stone. Lusciously-detailed with a silver-tone metal cap, each pendant has small jade-glass beads that lead to the stone at the earlobe. The setting is silver-tone metal. These all-original earrings have screw-backs, which can be modified for pierced ears. Jade was a very popular element in Art Deco jewelry. A soft color for today's woman who likes to wear warm hues.USD$295.00USD$295.00Lapis & Diamanté Dangling Earrings
Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Art Deco-style earrings are a bit of a mystery. Based on what I’ve seen in Ginger Moro’s book (European Designer Jewelry, p. 49), I’m guessing that this pair was made in Europe in the 1980s from vintage materials. Each rounded-triangular-shaped lapis-glass drop is embellished with diamante and a rectangular onyx-glass stone. The ear wires with lever-backs are original to the earrings and unmarked. Regardless of their date of manufacture, these earrings from my personal collection are distinctive and beautiful. 1930s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese lapis drop earrings have a pair of glass beads, each capped with flower-petal-shaped metal. The lower bead is 1/2-inch in diameter. The size and color make these pendants a bit bolder in effect than Art Deco pieces from the 1920s. The original screw-backs were replaced with sterling silver posts for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. Scroll down to see a selection of Art Deco jewels to wear with these earrings. 1930s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese lapis blue earrings are formed from molded-glass panels that look like carved gemstones. The flower motif in the blue-glass pendants is present in the silver-tone metal components that connect the pendant to the earring top. These all-original, unusual earrings have screw-backs, but they can be modified for pierced ears. Because these Art Deco earrings are 2″ long and bold (the glass panels are 3/4-inch squares), I would wear these drops with only an Art Deco bracelet – scroll down to see a selection. 1940s Jewelry, 1950s Jewelry, Vintage Earrings, Vintage Miriam Haskell JewelryThese milk glass earrings with beads and disks, rondelles, and gold-tone findings have a real Machine Age-look and associated movement. However, the use of French ear clips dates them to the late-1940s, and the white beads may take them into the 1950s, when white jewelry was extremely popular. I still consider this pair to be Art Deco in style, and I’ve seen the same motif used by this designer (Frank Hess) on earlier Miriam Haskell pieces. Whenever they were made, these ear clips are lots of fun! I saw them in an entirely new, bright, and glamorous light when they were chosen to walk the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019.
