Vintage Earrings

Vintage earrings are one of my favorite types of jewelry, and here you’ll find a vast selection from the 1920s-1950s. From Art Deco dangling styles to bead- and stone-cluster ear clips, this collection features a wide range of colors, materials, and silhouettes. Pieces like chandeliers by Hattie Carnegie or pearl clusters by Louis Rousselet will draw every eye up to your face, adding that little extra sparkle to any look. It’s no wonder earrings are many women’s go-to accessory. Whether adding color or shine to a simple everyday look or bringing that stunning cocktail dress to the next level, the perfect pair of vintage earrings will help to make you and your outfit memorable.

    Crystal Art Deco Pendant Earrings

    , ,
These Art Deco crystal earrings are long pendants that end with beautiful princess-cut stones. Each is topped with a trio of diamanté. Two smaller ones are separated by white-metal links. The large stone at the top was originally the face of the sterling silver screw backs. My expert jeweler replaced them with sterling silver wires with lever backs for pierced ears. If the 2 ½” length isn’t to your liking, you could have the lever-back wires replaced with posts. The length would then be 1 ¾”. These lovely earrings were part of my personal collection. They go with absolutely everything!

Crystal Bead & Sterling 1920s Drop Earrings

    , ,
Dainty and elegant, these 1920s earrings feature a faceted crystal ball dangling from a fine sterling silver chain. The framed glass stone that fronts the screw back appears to have darkened only because the attachment of the mechanism doesn't allow light to pass through it. The screw backs can be modified for pierced ears. These earrings go with absolutely everything and can be worn with all color palettes! Scroll down to see a selection of necklaces and brooches to wear with this lovely pair.

    Crystal Bead Earrings with Onyx

    , ,
These vintage crystal bead earrings are formed from a faceted, lantern-shaped bead that dangles from a row of crystal beads separated by onyx disks. At the top is a filigree plaque. The original screw-backs were replaced by sterling silver ear wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. I like long earrings, so I had the lever-backs added above the filigree. If these earrings are a bit too long for you, a jeweler could remove the lever-backs and add a sterling post to the back of the filigree. These Art Deco earrings are from my personal collection. Crystal Bead Pendant Earrings

    , ,
These 1920s earrings feature a large, faceted, round crystal bead dangling from a filigree caps. Above each pendant is a small, faceted, round bead set between the halves of a pointed-top bicone bead. The original screw-backs were converted to sterling silver ear wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. These earrings walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Scroll down to see a selection of necklaces and brooches – in crystal alone and in combination with colored stones – to wear with these versatile earrings. Crystal Briolette & Sterling 1930s Earrings

    , ,
A fully-faceted crystal briolette is the focal point in these substantial 1930s earrings. A faceted, prong-set, round crystal stone sits at the earlobe. The screw-backs are sterling silver and can be modified for pierced ears. The round stone at the top is very prominent – 1/2" diameter by 3/8" deep – so be ready to make a statement! These beautiful and unusual earrings sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Add some sparkle to your jewelry wardrobe!

    Crystal Chicklet Dangling 1920s Earrings

    , ,
Three faceted, square-cut crystal chicklets dangle in these charming 1920s earrings. A diamond-shaped chicklet is set at the earlobe. These all-original screw-back earrings can be modified for pierced ears. The mountings and findings may be sterling silver, but only the screw-backs are marked. Because the dangling crystals are separated by rings, these earrings have lots of movement and light reflection. These Art Deco jewels sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Scroll down to see a selection of Art Deco pieces to complement these lovely earrings.

    Crystal Dangle Earrings with Chicklets

    , ,
These crystal dangle earrings from the 1920s are absolutely gorgeous! Long and elegant, they feature square-cut and round stones in metal mounts, in what is known today as chicklets. Two sets of round stones dangle from the pair of square ones. As was common in the early part of the last century, the left and right earrings are complementary, to frame your face properly. These Art Deco earrings were part of my personal collection. The original screw-backs were replaced with sterling silver wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. What a great pair for a wedding, special occasion, or any time you want to look classy! In fact, this pair walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. • Flower-shaped diamante earrings by Miriam Haskell
Miriam Haskell ear clips with diamante centers and beaded petals
    $ 225

Diamanté & Bead Flower 1950s Earrings by Miriam Haskell

    , ,
These flower-shaped diamante earrings are much more beautiful than the photos convey. Six petals formed from tiny clear- and grey-glass bi-color beads wired together surround each large, faceted, round diamanté center. Designed by Frank Hess, this elegant pair features the style and workmanship that characterize Miriam Haskell pieces. The use of French ear clips dates these earrings to no earlier than the late-1940s, but I think the style is more 1950s. You can wear this pair for a special occasion or with everyday attire – they go with everything! They even sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019!

Diamanté & Silver Vintage Dangle Earrings

    , ,
These vintage dangle earrings are diamanté-encrusted with faceted, square-cut stones at the earlobe and as the focal point in the drop. Long and luxurious, these all-original Art Deco pendants have gold-colored ear wires with shepherd hooks for pierced ears. I am unaware of their metal content. I think these beautiful earrings are European in origin. Though stamped "SILVER" on the earring backs, I don't think the settings are sterling. Pieces like these are difficult to photograph, and the earrings are much brighter and more sparkly than the photos indicate. This glamorous pair walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Scroll down to see a selection of coordinating bracelets.

(They are much brighter than the first photo indicates.) At the top is a single stone. Great articulation! Gemstone & Sterling Acrostic 1940s Earrings by DeRosa

    , ,
Sterling silver set with gemstone-colored glass stones in a crescent shape make these 1940s ear clips by DeRosa very versatile. The colored stones are graduated in size and enhanced with an inner ring of diamanté. Moreover, the faux diamond, emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire and topaz form the word dearest, making these earrings acrostic (i.e., the initials of the stones form a word or name). This type of sentimental jewelry was very popular in the 19th century Victorian era, a style that inspired some 1940s jewelry designers. DeRosa pieces are always exceptionally well-made and hard to find.
