Vintage Earrings

Vintage earrings are one of my favorite types of jewelry, and here you’ll find a vast selection from the 1920s-1950s. From Art Deco dangling styles to bead- and stone-cluster ear clips, this collection features a wide range of colors, materials, and silhouettes. Pieces like chandeliers by Hattie Carnegie or pearl clusters by Louis Rousselet will draw every eye up to your face, adding that little extra sparkle to any look. It’s no wonder earrings are many women’s go-to accessory. Whether adding color or shine to a simple everyday look or bringing that stunning cocktail dress to the next level, the perfect pair of vintage earrings will help to make you and your outfit memorable.

  • Blue sapphire costume earrings by Hattie Carnegie
    Sapphire poured-glass ear clips
    $ 245

    Sapphire Poured Glass Earrings by Hattie Carnegie

    , ,
    These blue sapphire costume earrings feature translucent poured glass in a delicately-detailed gold-tone setting. The design is timeless and versatile! These 1950s ear clips were one of the Hattie Carnegie creations chosen by the designer to walk the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. He paired them with an Art Deco necklace in a similar blue worn by a model in a black-and-white houndstooth evening gown. I confess that I was both surprised and delighted with this choice, and the audience was definitely pleased. Although that necklace is no longer available, scroll down to see a similar piece.

  • Hattie Carnegie earrings with citrine, sapphire & onyx beads
    1950s colorful beaded cluster earrings by Hattie Carnegie
    $ 165

    Sapphire, Onyx & Citrine Bead Hattie Carnegie Earrings

    , ,
    These Hattie Carnegie earrings feature a cluster of sapphire-, onyx-, and chartreuse-glass beads. A prong-set, faceted citrine-glass stone surrounded by tiny onyx beads complete the design. Except for the black beads, all are coated with aurora borealis, which adds iridescence. This vibrant and unique late-1950s color combination is set in gold-tone metal. These colorful ear clips are a versatile addition to any jewelry wardrobe. They remind me of colors worn in the early episodes of Mad Men.

    Turquoise & Sapphire 1950s Earrings by Alice Caviness

    , ,
    An unusual textured turquoise glass stone is the centerpiece of these 1950s earrings by Alice Caviness. It is shaped like a thick button and has some sparkle in it. Aurora borealis sapphire glass stones and turquoise glass beads set in gold-tone filigree surround half of the turquoise center. These beads are mounted (wired?) onto a filigree back that holds the ear clip. The earrings face each other, so they beautifully frame the face when worn. This pair showcase this designer's clever mix of colors and materials.
