Chrysoprase & Crystal Art Deco Dangle Earrings
1920s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese Art Deco dangle earrings feature two faceted, oblong chrysoprase-glass stones with a faceted, round collet-set crystal at the bottom. Each stone is separated by a ring link, so there’s plenty of movement here. The original screw-backs were converted to sterling silver ear wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. Note that although the open-back bottom crystals appear dark in the first photo, they are, in fact, clear and sparkly (as in the second photo). 1940s Jewelry, Rice-Weiner Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis vintage emerald brooch, designed by McClelland Barclay, has two layers. On the bottom is a curved, rhodium-plated base with a pin and roll-over safety clasp. The top layer has faceted, emerald-cut emerald-glass stones, emerald-glass baguettes, and diamanté accents, all set in a spiraling rhodium-plated frame. As with all of this designer’s creations, this 1940s piece is well-constructed with a hefty weight. I’ve shown this jewel positioned in different ways, so you can choose which you prefer. Note that the Barclay’s name rather than the maker’s is stamped on this jewel.USD$295.00USD$295.00Emerald & Diamanté Double Clip Brooch by Hattie Carnegie
1950s Jewelry, Double Clip Brooches, Hattie Carnegie JewelryThis vintage brooch from Hattie Carnegie’s New York fashion house is both beautiful and practical. It has two hearts formed from three layers of diamantés topped with large, round, faceted emerald-glass stones. The setting is rhodium-plated, and the color combination is striking. The layers make this piece very three-dimensional and sparkly. Wear this jewel as a brooch (at different angles, as shown) or as two separate dress clips. The photos show a third option: one clip worn as a pendant on a sterling silver chain (which is not included). A white-gold one would also work well. Or pin the brooch horizontally on a velvet ribbon. How’s that for a three-in-one jewel!USD$395.00USD$395.00Emerald & Diamanté Sunburst Earrings by Hattie Carnegie

1940s Jewelry, Unknown (Maker's Mark is Unknown), Vintage Dress ClipsThis vintage lapel pin is beautiful in design and construction, and wearable in many ways. It has faceted emerald-cut and round emerald-glass stones, in sharp contrast to the diamantés and rhodium-plated sterling silver setting. This color combination is rich and versatile. You can wear this jewel on the shoulder or lapel of a jacket, on the shoulder of a dress or sweater, or on a hat or a scarf. The hinged, double-prong fastener works best on weighty fabrics. Although this piece is marked, I cannot identify the maker. The design and use of sterling make me think it’s from the mid-1940s. But I don’t think these details matter – this clip is stunning!USD$295.00USD$295.00Emerald, Diamanté & Sterling Filigree Bracelet

This jewel has a complex construction, as illustrated by the rivets that bind the elements. The pin fastens with a roll-over safety clasp. This brooch was included in an ad in the August 1, 1944 issue of Vogue that featured Coro-Craft “Masterpieces of Fashion Jewelry”. 1930s Jewelry, Unsigned Jewelry, Vintage Brooches & PinsThis vintage Bakelite brooch is fashioned from a half-dome in light green. When jewelry makers embraced early plastics they no longer needed to imitate gemstones, so the range of colors was limitless. This 1930s piece is embellished with five rings of diamantés. This versatile Art Deco jewel is fun to wear and probably European in origin. It may be Galalith, an alternative plastic often used there. Although the pin is bent, it works very well. 1950s Jewelry, Louis Rousselet Jewelry, Vintage EarringsThese jade bead earrings feature clusters of vibrant dark-apple-green-glass barrels cascading from a white-metal back. Some of the beads have striations. Though unsigned, these delightful 1950s creations feature the same horseshoe-shaped ear clip typically used by Louis Rousselet. What’s more significant is the way the earrings are constructed. The backs have a "metallic support in the shape of a rosette" to which the beads are wired. Florence Müller (in Costume Jewelry for Haute Couture) cites this "rosette" as a "signature" of this maker’s work, which was rarely signed on the jewelry.
