    Amethyst Chicklet-style 1920s Necklace

    , ,
    This 1920s Art Deco necklace of faceted, square-cut amethyst- glass stones set in silver-tone frames with a delicate chain may be sterling, but it is unmarked. It closes with a filigree fish-hook clasp. Please note that the color saturation of the crystals is even ― any differences in the photos are due to lighting. This necklace walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Scroll down to take a look at coordinating amethyst bracelets.

    Vintage aquamarine bracelet in sterling silver
    Aquamarine Art Deco line bracelet
    $ 395

    Aquamarine & Sterling Line Bracelet

    This vintage aquamarine bracelet has square-cut glass stones channel-set in rhodium-plated sterling silver links with engraved edges. It is an excellent example of an Art Deco line bracelet, so popular in the 1920s-1930s. Longer than many from this era, this one has substantial weight and width as well as excellent construction and articulation. The concealed clasp has a safety catch. This bracelet is signed, but I cannot identify the maker. Because of its simple, classic lines, this bracelet coordinates well with more elaborate pieces from other eras. In fact, it adorned a runway model at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. She wore this jewel with fabulous 1950s diamanté chandelier earrings, which you can see here. Although this item is no longer available, you may like another aquamarine bracelet in a similar design from the same era – scroll down to see it.

  • Sterling silver crystal necklace in Art Deco-style
    Art Deco-style crystal chicklet necklace
    $ 295

    Crystal & Sterling Art Deco-Style Necklace

    , ,
    This sterling silver crystal necklace is a 1950s revival of the Art Deco chicklet. These faceted, square-cut crystals are set in angled frames, adding to the sparkle and uniqueness of this piece. This necklace closes with a concealed clasp; its style tells me this piece was produced in Japan in the early 1950s. After the war, Japan produced a lot of high-quality costume jewelry for export. This beautiful necklace sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Crystal Bead Pendant Earrings

    , ,
    These 1920s earrings feature a large, faceted, round crystal bead dangling from a filigree caps. Above each pendant is a small, faceted, round bead set between the halves of a pointed-top bicone bead. The original screw-backs were converted to sterling silver ear wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. These earrings walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Scroll down to see a selection of necklaces and brooches – in crystal alone and in combination with colored stones – to wear with these versatile earrings. Crystal Briolette & Sterling 1930s Earrings

    , ,
    A fully-faceted crystal briolette is the focal point in these substantial 1930s earrings. A faceted, prong-set, round crystal stone sits at the earlobe. The screw-backs are sterling silver and can be modified for pierced ears. The round stone at the top is very prominent – 1/2" diameter by 3/8" deep – so be ready to make a statement! These beautiful and unusual earrings sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Add some sparkle to your jewelry wardrobe!

    Crystal Chicklet Dangling 1920s Earrings

    , ,
    Three faceted, square-cut crystal chicklets dangle in these charming 1920s earrings. A diamond-shaped chicklet is set at the earlobe. These all-original screw-back earrings can be modified for pierced ears. The mountings and findings may be sterling silver, but only the screw-backs are marked. Because the dangling crystals are separated by rings, these earrings have lots of movement and light reflection. These Art Deco jewels sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. Scroll down to see a selection of Art Deco pieces to complement these lovely earrings.

    Crystal Dangle Earrings with Chicklets

    , ,
    These crystal dangle earrings from the 1920s are absolutely gorgeous! Long and elegant, they feature square-cut and round stones in metal mounts, in what is known today as chicklets. Two sets of round stones dangle from the pair of square ones. As was common in the early part of the last century, the left and right earrings are complementary, to frame your face properly. These Art Deco earrings were part of my personal collection. The original screw-backs were replaced with sterling silver wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. What a great pair for a wedding, special occasion, or any time you want to look classy! In fact, this pair walked the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019. • Flower-shaped diamante earrings by Miriam Haskell
    Miriam Haskell ear clips with diamante centers and beaded petals
    $ 225

    Diamanté & Bead Flower 1950s Earrings by Miriam Haskell

    , ,
    These flower-shaped diamante earrings are much more beautiful than the photos convey. Six petals formed from tiny clear- and grey-glass bi-color beads wired together surround each large, faceted, round diamanté center. Designed by Frank Hess, this elegant pair features the style and workmanship that characterize Miriam Haskell pieces. The use of French ear clips dates these earrings to no earlier than the late-1940s, but I think the style is more 1950s. You can wear this pair for a special occasion or with everyday attire – they go with everything! They even sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019!

    Diamanté & Silver Vintage Dangle Earrings

    , ,
    These vintage dangle earrings are diamanté-encrusted with faceted, square-cut stones at the earlobe and as the focal point in the drop. Long and luxurious, these all-original Art Deco pendants have gold-colored ear wires with shepherd hooks for pierced ears. I am unaware of their metal content. I think these beautiful earrings are European in origin. Though stamped "SILVER" on the earring backs, I don't think the settings are sterling. Pieces like these are difficult to photograph, and the earrings are much brighter and more sparkly than the photos indicate. Diamanté & Sterling Bracelet by Dorsons

    This diamanté and sterling silver 1940s bracelet by Dorsons takes the line-bracelet design one step further. Square-cut diamanté channel-set in rhodium-plated sterling silver are enhanced with two squares of clear baguettes. This well-made bracelet with excellent articulation has a concealed clasp. All-diamanté pieces are really hard to photograph, and this one is no exception. All stones are clear and bright, and the overall effect is much brighter than my photos indicate. In fact, this lovely bracelet sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019! The model wore it with Art Deco crystal bead pendant earrings. Diamanté 5-row Honeycomb Bracelet by Schreiber & Hiller

    , ,
    Art Deco fashion jewelry made in the 1930s in Germany was unlike anything produced by North American companies. The foundation of this maker’s designs is an oblong link that holds channel-set stones. With this bracelet, they took this concept to another level. These flat, rhodium-plated links with three diamanté form a honeycomb pattern. A large stone is in the center, with a smaller one on each side. This bracelet has five rows; it closes with a concealed clasp and safety catch. Scroll down to see another bracelet by this maker in the same pattern with three rows.
