  • Silver leaf brooch with amethyst & diamantes
Miriam Haskell amethyst & diamante silver leaf brooch
    USD$395.00

Amethyst & Diamanté Silver Leaf Brooch by Miriam Haskell

    , ,
This silver leaf brooch is an unusual and elegant 1950s creation by Miriam Haskell. It has pale-amethyst-glass nuggets set on a bed of layered, etched silver-tone leaves. Diamantés and beads of pale lavender and clear glass also adorn this luscious piece. I love the way the leaves curl around the large stones. This amazing brooch was in my personal collection, and I am now reluctantly offering it to you.

  • Theodor Fahrner bracelet with gilded sterling & aquamarines
1920s-1930s filigree bracelet by Theodor Fahrner
    USD$1,495.00

Aquamarine & Gilt Sterling Filigree Theodor Fahrner Bracelet

    , ,
This Theodor Fahrner bracelet is spectacular! Each gilded-sterling silver link with corded wire spirals holds a collet-set faux aquamarine. This fabulous Art Deco jewel is an excellent example of the type of filigree this maker is known for. The book cited as a reference indicates that the filigree pieces were made post-1932, but the same source dates the maker’s mark to the 1920s. I don’t think the date matters – this bracelet is exquisite! It has a box clasp and safety catch. Scroll down to see a sterling Fahrner necklace that looks lovely with this piece.

  • Baroque pearl earrings in Louis Rousselet-style
1950s cream-colored faux pearl ear clips
    USD$275.00

    Baroque Pearl Earrings from France

    , ,
These baroque pearl earrings have a large, cream-colored glass pearl center encircled by a ring of small, matching round glass pearls. Though these 1950s earrings are unsigned, the ear-clip mechanism and materials are consistent with those used by Louis Rousselet. (His pieces were usually only signed with paper hang tags.) These earrings would make a lovely accessory for daytime, evening, or bridal/wedding/prom wear.

Blue Glass Flower & Diamanté 1920s Choker Necklace

    , ,
This 1920s choker necklace is formed by clusters of delicate blue-glass-flower-shaped beads with white glass centers that alternate with clusters of diamantés. Three rondelles form the barrel clasp. This necklace, which was probably made in France in the 1920s, has been restrung by my expert jeweler. What a knockout! Citrine & Sterling Filigree Art Deco Bracelet by Simmons

    , ,
This vintage Art Deco bracelet by Simmons, a company known for their innovation, has rectangular dark-citrine-glass stones set in the center of alternating panels of sterling silver filigree. The clasp on this piece is unique and secure. This bracelet is wider than most of its filigree counterparts, which makes me think it may be an early 1930s piece. • Faceted crystal bead necklace made of rock crystal
Graduated strand of rock crystal beads
    USD$245.00

    Crystal Bead Art Deco Necklace

This faceted crystal bead necklace tests as rock crystal (a natural mineral, not man-made lead crystal). This strand in graduating sizes has knots in-between and a filigree, fish-hook clasp. You can wear this Art Deco jewel with just about anything, anytime and anywhere. Crystal Necklace & Earrings Set

    , , ,
This vintage rock crystal necklace and earrings set comes in its original box. (Rock crystal is a natural mineral.) Made in the 1950s, this set is reminiscent of similar pieces made in the Art Deco era. The necklace closes with a filigree fish-hook clasp. The original screw-backs on the earrings were converted to sterling silver ear wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. • Diamante earrings shaped like flowers by Miriam Haskell
Miriam Haskell ear clips with diamante centers and beaded petals
    USD$325.00

Diamanté & Bead Flower Earrings by Miriam Haskell

    , ,
These flower-shaped diamante earrings are much more beautiful than the photos convey. Six petals formed from tiny clear- and grey-glass bi-color beads wired together surround each large, faceted, round diamanté center. Designed by Frank Hess, this elegant pair features the style and workmanship that characterize Miriam Haskell pieces. The use of French ear clips dates these earrings to no earlier than the late-1940s, but I think the style is more 1950s. You can wear this pair for a special occasion or with everyday attire – they go with everything! They even sparkled on the runway at Toronto Fashion Week for Spring 2019!

  • Vintage starfish brooch by Alice Caviness
    Back of vintage starfish brooch
    USD$395.00

Diamanté & Gold Starfish Brooch by Alice Caviness

    , , ,
This vintage starfish brooch is bold and dazzling. The aurora borealis diamantés in the gold-tone setting take on the color of the metal, catch the light, and seem to dance. The brooch with a roll-over safety clasp reflects the hue of the garment it's pinned to. Although women in the 1950s typically wore matching sets of jewelry, you don't have to do that. Just add gold studs or hoops. Consider these ear clips, each shaped like one of the creature's arms, a bonus. This jewel is versatile and guaranteed to get you noticed! What an imaginative adornment for a bride's hair or veil!

  • Vintage dangle earrings in silver with diamante
    Close-up view of earring top
    USD$395.00

Diamanté & Silver Vintage Dangle Earrings

    , ,
These vintage dangle earrings are diamanté-encrusted with faceted, square-cut stones at the earlobe and as the focal point on the drop. Long and luxurious, these all-original Art Deco pendants have gold-colored ear wires with shepherd hooks for pierced ears. I am unaware of their metal content. I think these beautiful earrings are European in origin because of their exceptional quality, their fasteners, and the "SILVER" stamp on the back. The use of "800 silver" (which is less than the 925 standard for sterling) was common in Europe when these jewels were made. Pieces like these are difficult to photograph, and the earrings are much brighter and more sparkly than the photos indicate. This glamorous pair walked the runway at a recent fashion show. The square-cut diamantés channel-set in rhodium-plated sterling silver are enhanced with two squares of baguettes. This well-made jewel with excellent articulation has a box clasp. All-diamanté pieces are really hard to photograph, and this one is no exception. All stones are clear and bright, and the overall effect is more brilliant than my photos indicate. • Otis sterling bracelet with diamanté
Diamante & sterling Art Deco bracelet
    USD$195.00

Diamanté & Sterling Line Bracelet by Otis

    , ,
This Otis sterling bracelet is a lovely example of an Art Deco line bracelet, the forerunner of today's tennis bracelet. It features faceted, square-cut diamanté channel-set in rhodium-plated sterling silver. Engraved edges and a diamanté-embellished fold-over clasp complete the design. The excellent articulation speaks to its high-quality construction, which actually was the same as that used by Wachenheimer Bros. (Read about the companies' connection.) Bracelets in this style (known as flexible bracelets in that era) were all the rage in the 1920s-1930s and were typically worn in multiples. You can see this one paired with other line bracelets in the photos. Although the stones have aged a bit, this jewel still has lots of sparkle. Scroll down to see coordinating pieces.
