  • French Art Deco necklace w/cognac art glass beads
1930s French necklace with cognac-colored art glass beads
    USD$275.00

    Brown Art Glass Beaded Necklace

    , ,
This French Art Deco necklace has gorgeous cognac-colored, graduated glass beads with black swirls. Be sure to look at the close-up photo to see how stunning and unique they are. The dark metal spacers and type of barrel clasp identify this piece as "Made in France". All components are strung on chain. The lusciously-warm hue of this substantial jewel compliments neutral colors. Wear this versatile necklace with casual, office and evening attire and simple gold earrings. I think the true beauty of the beads shines when they adorn a bare neck.

  • 1930s French necklace with carnelian, jade & pearl glass beads
    1930s French Art Deco necklace
    USD$295.00

Carnelian, Jade & Pearl Bead Necklace

    , ,
This 1930s French necklace has large jade-glass beads and smaller carnelian-glass beads with chrome caps. A donut-shaped faux pearl flanks each bead. Green and reddish-brown were a popular color combination in the Art Deco era, when this piece was made. I think these complimentary hues are just as fresh today. Large flat chrome links complete the length of this well-made piece, which closes with a decorative barrel clasp. An additional four links (which total one inch) are included, in case you need them. You could wear earrings in one of these colors or a simple pair of silver hoops with this versatile jewel.

  • Vintage Ciro brooch or pair of clips
    Vintage Ciro double clip brooch
    USD$345.00

Diamanté & Sterling Ciro Brooch or Pair of Clips

    , , ,
This fine vintage Ciro brooch is a dainty and exceptionally well-made piece, probably from the late-1930s. The design of furled sterling silver ribbons set with diamantés reflects the romanticism of the period. Wear this lovely piece as a brooch on your collar, hat, or cloth bag. The separate dress clips bring elegant sparkle to a round- or v-neckline. The condition of the stones is exceptional. Although this jewel bears Ciro's mark, the piece was made by an unknown French or German company. The trombone clasp is a clue to the country of origin. Like the jewelry of many high-end retailers, Ciro’s was designed, produced and stamped with their logo by various manufacturers whose work was commissioned. This double clip brooch is the only one I’ve seen with a brooch mechanism that frames the entire piece. Vintage Ciro jewels are hard to date and were not inexpensive when they were made.

  • Art Deco bangle probably by Wachenheimer Bros.
    1920s bangle front
    USD$395.00

Peridot, Crystal & Sterling Art Deco Bangle

    , ,
This Art Deco bangle from the 1920s has faceted, square-cut stones channel-set in sterling silver with engraved edges. Open-back peridot glass alternates with colorless crystals, which sparkle when the light shines through. The materials, construction and quality are consistent with bangles made by Wachenheimer Bros. but unusual in color. I've called the green peridot because it's lighter than emerald. This jewel is unsigned because the tongue portion of the clasp (where this company's bangles were marked DIAMONBAR STERLING) was missing when I bought it. The clasp has been expertly repaired by my jeweler and now fastens securely. A lovely Art Deco bracelet from my personal collection to wear alone or as part of a stack of bracelets.
