Faceted, long amethyst glass stones are separated by trios of faceted crystals collet-set in decorative mounts in this classic 1920s Art Deco necklace. The stones are all open-back to allow for the maximum reflection of light. The settings for the three crystals closest to the spring-ring clasp have plain edges – they were added to lengthen the original 14.5 inch necklace. This necklace may be sterling, but it is unmarked (except for the clasp). This gorgeous piece was part of my personal collection. Scroll down to see a selection of Art Deco earrings and bracelets to wear with this lovely necklace.

    Amethyst & Pearl Drop Earrings

These vintage amethyst earrings are long and luxurious. They feature faceted glass teardrop pendants dangling from silver-tone paper-clip chain. Tiny faux pearls and a lantern-shaped amethyst bead accents each chain. These 1920s jewels are the epitome of the glamour and style of the Art Deco era, yet they remain modern and elegant. The screw-backs can be modified for pierced ears. This pair looks wonderful with an amethyst Art Deco bracelet – scroll down to see one.

    Crystal Chicklet Dangling Earrings

These dangling crystal earrings from the 1920s are formed by three faceted, square-cut chicklets, with a diamond-shaped stone set at the earlobe. These all-original screw-back earrings can be modified for pierced ears. The mountings and findings may be sterling silver, but only the fasteners are marked. Because the chicklets are separated by rings, these earrings have lots of movement and light reflection. These Art Deco jewels sparkled on the runway at a recent fashion show. Amethyst & Sterling Bracelet by Foster & Bro.

This sterling amethyst bracelet is a popular style from the 1920s. It features four faceted, cushion-cut, deep-amethyst-glass stones. They are set in open-back, vertical frames that alternate with horizontal oval panels and narrower links. This lovely, well-made jewel by a less-known maker closes with a clasp that hooks onto the last link. A lush, regal color that’s versatile and easy to wear. Scroll down to see coordinating necklaces.
