Aquamarine & Sterling Bow Brooch & Earrings Set

Aquamarine & Sterling Bow Brooch & Earrings Set

Additional information

Brooch: 2" x 2 1/2"; earrings: 1" x 3/4"

c.1942 (based on date of similar design patent)

Brooch: "Hobé STERLING" within triangle shape; ear clips: "STERLING"

Similar to design patent D132,327 issued to William W. Hobé in 1942

This silver bow earrings and brooch set was hand-made by Hobé in the 1940s. The focal point of the brooch is a flower with an aquamarine-glass-stone center. It sits atop the four-looped bow foundation of ribbons adorned with layers of buds and leaves. An aquamarine-glass stone is at the center of each bow-shaped ear clip. The detail on these sterling silver pieces is a superb example of the maker’s craftsmanship. The pin closes with a roll-over safety clasp. The same floral motif is used in a bracelet by Hobé – scroll down to see it.
