This 1950s 8-strand necklace by Hattie Carnegie with faceted glass beads in two shades of blue is always in style. The ornate leaf-shaped, gold-plated clasp is a work of art, with layers of flowers and leaves, embellished with a faux pearl, blue-glass stones and a dangling bead in the same color. Even the back of the leaf has veins — another indication of Carnegie’s quality and attention to detail. You can twist the strands for a torsade or wear them straight for a longer look. In either case, I would wear the clasp in front.
