This Art Deco choker features faceted, opaque chrysoprase, onyx and ruby glass disks and rondelles. The components are strung on metal chain. The necklace closes with a screw-in clasp formed by two of the disks. Based on the construction of this piece, I think it is European in origin. As often happens with necklaces made like this one, the chain has stretched. I don’t recommend having a jeweler cut the excess – just keep it at the back. This colorful and versatile necklace can be worn with many Art Deco jewels, depending on the color you wish to emphasize — scroll down to see a selection. Or wear your real or faux diamond studs to complete the look.

    Onyx & Sterling Link Bracelet

Seven faceted, oval onyx-glass stones prong-set and mounted on oval frames form this lovely Art Deco bracelet. The stones are 1/4″ high and have points in the center. The setting is sterling silver with a spring-ring clasp. This well-made piece, which is longer than most of its era, is signed. However, I can’t determine the maker’s name. Chrysoprase & Crystal Dangling Earrings

    , ,

Two faceted, oblong chrysoprase (glass?) stones with a faceted, round collet-set crystal at the bottom form these classic 1920s earrings. Each stone is separated by a ring link, so there’s plenty of movement here. The original screw-backs were converted to sterling silver ear wires with lever backs for pierced ears by my expert jeweler. Note that although the open-back bottom crystals appear dark in the first photo, they are, in fact, clear and sparkly (as in the second photo). Scroll down to see a number of chrysoprase pieces that would compliment these earrings. This apple-green color is fabulous for women who look best in warm hues.

Onyx, Diamanté & Sterling Bracelet by Wachenheimer Bros.

    , ,

This quintessential Art Deco line bracelet was made by the renowned Wachenheimer Brothers (best known for their Diamonbar pieces). It has faceted, square-cut onyx-glass stones channel-set in sterling silver, with engraved edges and diamanté-studded clasps. This bracelet was made in two sections, with identical fold-over clasps in both places. The type of clasp dates this piece to the early 1930s, after the company stopped using their Diamonbar trademark and near the end of their production. This bracelet was made for a slim wrist, so please note the bracelet length (6 7/8″) and check your wrist size before purchasing this piece. The last photo shows it along with two other line bracelets – scroll down to see their details as well as other onyx Art Deco jewels to wear with this lovely bracelet.
