This McClelland Barclay vintage brooch has two layers. The bottom is a furled, gold-plated scroll. The top features faceted, emerald-cut citrine-glass stones, baguettes, and round diamanté, all set in connected, rhodium-plated frames that form a spiral. The intricate construction, as seen on the back, along with the use of two tones of metal are hallmarks of the designer. This brooch has a roll-over safety clasp and can be worn in any direction you choose. Notice that the maker’s name (Rice-Weiner) does not appear on McClelland Barclay-designed pieces.
