Citrine & Sterling Bow Brooch

Citrine & Sterling Bow Brooch

Additional information

3 3/8" x 1 3/8"

1942-1947 (based on use of sterling)

This citrine pin has a gorgeous faceted, square-cut yellow-orange stone as its focal point. Its sterling silver bow, a popular motif during the 1940s, is further embellished with emerald-cut glass stones in a paler shade of yellow. This brooch closes with a roll-over safety clasp. What’s unusual about this high-quality piece is that it is unsigned and that the sterling is not gold-washed (which was more typical of Retro Modern jewels like this one). The photos show this brooch in the horizontal and vertical positions. You decide which way to wear it!
