This maple leaf brooch has two layers: a diamanté-adorned silver tone leaf atop a larger gold-tone one. This 1940s brooch was designed by McClelland Barclay, the famous artist who designed jewelry for Rice-Weiner. The positioning of the two leaves makes this piece very graceful. It closes with a roll-over safety clasp. With two colors of metal, this brooch can be worn with anything. I couldn’t decide which way to position the leaf, so my photos of the front show both options — you decide which you prefer! McClelland Barclay pieces are not common because his career was cut short by his death in World War II.
