Ruby glass beads wired in a spiral are adorned with channels of diamanté and topped with a large ruby bead. Frank Hess designed a nearly identical dress clip for Miriam Haskell circa 1940, but with diamanté only on the front. This brooch has them on both sides and closes with a trombone clasp on a filigree back. Real or faux diamond ear studs are the perfect accompaniment. Scroll down to see a complementary bracelet.

Payton (better-known as PAYCO) has a concealed clasp and etched edges. This design and construction are typical of this type of piece so popular in the 1920s.
