Ruby & Sterling Flower 1940s Brooch by Hess-Appel
3 3/4" x 1 1/2"
1944-1946 (based on mark and use of sterling, per Brunialti)
A large, beautifully-faceted, cushion-cut ruby glass flower stands tall with curled sterling silver leaves and stem in this graceful 1940s Retro Modern brooch by Hess-Appel. This piece is signed with their Jollé trademark (without the accent, which was used only in their advertisements). This tall brooch closes with a roll-over safety clasp. You can easily remove the age-appropriate patina if you wish.
