Sapphire Lava Rock 1950s Earrings by Elsa Schiaparelli
1 1/4" diameter
"Schiaparelli" (in script) and "PAT 156452"
Design patent D156,452 for ear clip issued to Frederick W. Moulson, assigned to B. A. Ballou & Co., in 1949
Round and marquis-shaped lava rocks — a Schiaparelli favorite — in sapphire blue are separated by round faceted deep-sapphire-glass stones in these 1950s earrings. The lava rocks really glow with blue and pinky-purple lights. The setting is silver-tone metal with clip-backs. Wear these earrings off-duty, to the office, and in the evening.
