"Hobé STERLING DESIGN PAT'D"
Similar to larger heart in design patent D141,367 issued to William W. Hobé in 1945
This 1940s sterling silver heart brooch by Hobé is deliciously detailed with flowers, leaves, and a large bow with trailing curled ribbons. The back shows the incredible craftsmanship of Hobé’s work. This substantial piece has a roll-over safety clasp. While I usually avoid heart-shaped pieces, I couldn’t resist this one! - Vintage Brooches & Pins, 1940s Jewelry, Hobé JewelryThis sterling silver rose brooch is just one of numerous floral pieces designed by this extraordinary maker. In my opinion, Hobé made the best sterling flowers in the 1940s. On this pin, the large blossom at the center with surrounding buds illustrate his exceptional design talent and the company’s high-level of craftsmanship. Their pieces were all hand-made at this time. The unusual design of this brooch is similar to one that was patented in 1940. The pin closes with a roll-over safety clasp.
