Carnelian Bracelet in Sterling by Wachenheimer Bros.
7" x 3/4"
Late-1920s to early-1930s
This vintage carnelian bracelet features six round, polished stones prong-set on round, open-back frames. In between each is a decorative link with a smaller stone. The setting is sterling silver. This piece was part of the company’s Wachenheimer Real Stone Jewelry line introduced in the late-1920s. The style is quite a departure from their Diamonbar pieces but no less lovely. This bracelet, which closes with a concealed clasp, was part of my personal collection. Carnelian is a rich, warm, and versatile color. - ArchivesThis carnelian bracelet has faceted glass stones set in rectangular panels. Each is outlined with alternating faux onyx and marcasites. Even the connecting links are adorned. This sterling silver piece is an excellent example of high-quality German craftsmanship of the 1920s-1930s. Based on its width, I'm dating this jewel to the 1920s, when bracelets were narrow and often worn in multiples. This piece has a concealed clasp with a safety catch and was part of my personal collection.USD$345.00
